*The best*
Bombay House |
$$
For great Indian food, you need to go to Bombay house. Their curries are delicious (I'll admit, we haven't really branched out because we love what we always get). Don't forget to order naan as well. You wont regret it.

Cocolito's Mexican Restaurant |
$$
This is Andrew's mom and step-dad's favorite Mexican restaurant. It isn't super close to where we live, but it is well worth the trip to get some delicious Mexican dishes. Their carne asada plate is delicious, as are their chimichangas. Yum!

Dragon Isle |

In the mood for good Chinese food? Definitely visit Dragon Isle. Andrew loves their Sweet and Sour Chicken and claims it is the most authentic he has ever been able to find. Their dinner meals are great and include soup, an eggroll or fried shirmp, rice, and the entree.

Simply Sushi |
Itto Sushi |
$$
Ok, Andrew and I have decided that Simply Sushi trumps Itto just by a little bit. It's a little bit cheaper but still delivers great food. While there is a Simply Sushi in downtown Salt Lake, we actually like the location in West Jordan better. If you're starving, the all-you-can-eat option is the way to go. |
$$
It is hard to find a sushi place that tastes deliciously fresh without breaking the bank. Itto Sushi is the answer to your search. It is a big step above Itchiban Sushi (avoid that place, please!) but it is much less pricey than somewhere like Tsunami Sushi. Go on a Tuesday or Wednesday and their rolls are all 1/2 off. To make it even better, there are often Groupon deals for this place ($10 for $20). |
Little America Coffee Shop |
$$
Found across the street from the Grand America Hotel, the Little American is a much less "grand" but no less wonderful version of a delicious hotel restaurant. Go in the warm months and ask to sit out on the patio. (We went during Comic Con and were pleased to have dinner AND a show of very strangely dressed individuals parading by our table). A nice, classy dinner.

Litza's Pizza |
$$
For Andrew, this place is full of memories. For me, it's just full of delicious smells and a happy tummy. Be sure to go to the Litza's Pizza in Salt Lake. There is another one in Midvael, but because it shares the building with Hires Big H, it seems to be less delicious. I don't know why, but it's true!

Lone Star Taqueria |
$$
Soooo Goooood!!! There are very few Mexican restaurants in Utah that really grab my attention, but Lone Star Taqueria is definitely one of them. Their salmon fish tacos are our favorite, but there are plenty of other delicious things on the menu. Try the loaded nachos or the carne asada taco/burrito. And don't forget an order of chips and guacamole.

Rich's Burgers |
$$
This was where Andrew and I went on our first date. When I heard that their specialty was a mac & cheese burger, I was at first disgusted by the idea. However, the owner convinced me to try it and I did not regret it. They grill the mac & cheese before adding it to the freshly cooked meat (think of it as a step above your normal cheese burger). Whatever burger you order here, you are sure to be pleased with it.

Ruth's Diner |
$$
This is a charming little spot a the mouth of a canyon. The ambiance and history are definitely part of the experience at this restaurant. Go there for dinner for traditional diner food (and some non-traditional additions). Or get up early and visit for breakfast (Eggs Benedict are my personal favorite). Just don't be surprised when you have to wait to be seated. It's a small place, especially in the winter when they can't use their outdoor patio area.

Thai Mango |

This is a shout-out to my old roommate, Rachel, who introduced me to Thai Mango. Definitely one of my favorite Thai places to go. I love their spring rolls. And of course their curries can't be beat.

The Roof |
$$$$
Ok, we are getting ritzy here. If you want a real beautiful, delicious, and expensive treat, definitely make a reservation at The Roof. It sits on the top floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and overlooks the Salt Lake temple. You can't go wrong with a buffet of prime rib, chicken florentine, shrimp cocktail, and endless desserts.

Market Street Grill |

This is another shnazy place that is great for special occasions. Andrew took me to Market Street Grill to celebrate our first anniversary. They are known for their great fish options. To be honest, their menu is not very helpful, but if you have a friendly waiter who is willing to spell out some of the favorites (which we luckily did), then they can help you out. The clam chowder is delicious, and our favorite fish style was called "Oscar's style" (with a buttery goodness sauce). Enjoy.
