A House to call Home!

It's official......we bought a house!  :)

It is a cute 2 story house on a small street in Herriman, Utah. We will be right across the street from an elementary school, the public library, and the recreation center. Then our church building also just across the way on an adjacent street.   Honestly, it is so perfect for our first home :)

Andrew saw the house on the Utah Real Estate website and felt instantly drawn to it. And when we walked through, we both felt really good about what the house offered. It has 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a 2-car garage, and an unfinished basement. Almost immediately, we knew that we wanted to put in an offer on the house.     So we did :)

We had to obviously do some negotiating, and I was surprised to find that I kinda have a knack for negotiating. Haha.  I won't go into all of the details, but the conversation basically went like this:

Our Agent (Kris): Their agent insists that his client can't accept an offer under $....

                                                                               

Kris:  Ok, so the agent says he will put some of his commission into the price. So now they want only $.... (still $2k over our offer).

Kris: They accepted!

Maichael: Nope, we already offered our best and highest offer.




​Maichael: Hm, ok, we'd be willing to give them that price, BUT we want the refrigerator, the washer and dryer, and the cute TV stand included in the deal. And that is our FINAL final offer.  :)

Haha. It was awesome!

So we signed all the papers and wire transferred the money. It is a done deal, people!

Now people keep asking me if Andrew and I are nervous about such a big purchase, but honestly we both feel really good about it.  It just seems right; the right place, the right time.  I am grateful for this peaceful feeling with seems to confirm to me that we are making a good decision. 

We own a house! We moved in at the beginning of October and have had lots of fun decorating and setting up all our furniture and pictures. It's starting to feel like home.
