It has already been a month since Andrew and I tied the knot. Can you believe it? I definitely can't! Can I please relive it with you now? Our wedding day was a true fairy tale. Are there any better words to describe it: perfect, a dream, amazing. My mom, wedding planner (Kam), and I had worked hard to plan as much as we could, but I always expected there to be some little hiccup along the road. Nope. Never a single problem. Like I said, a fairy tale. Our noon-day sealing allowed for a more relaxed morning, with time to wake up and get ready with the sun. All the little things throughout the day added to the excitement. I had a wonderful time prepping with my hairstylist, makeup artist, my family, and my maid of honor. The temple was by far the best part of the day. Walking in through those doors and seeing Andrew waiting for me was like a breath of cool air. It shocked and calmed and rejuvenated me all at the same time. We really had made it! We were really going to be married in these beautiful, sacred walls. The Newport Beach temple has always held a special place in my heart. I contributed to the temple fund as a youth and then watched it being constructed. Once finished, I was privileged to be part of the Youth Celebration and perform for President Hinkley. Although I wasn't thrilled with the "pink" exterior at first, it definitely grew on me. It is where I received my endowment before leaving on a mission, and it is where I dreamed of one day marrying a worthy priesthood holder and continuing on my journey towards eternity with him. And on November 28, 2015, those dreams came true. Walking into the packed sealing room was overwhelming. The spirit was so strong, and I was hit with a wave of emotions as I looked at countless faces of people I love. My family. His family. Ward members. Friends. Both Andrew and I teared up knowing that we had so many people who loved us and supported us. With Andrew's sweaty hand in mine, we listened to the counsel of the sealer. He gave us some amazing counsel, but that is for me to expound upon at a different time. And, of course, there was the reception. The fairy tale continued as the night went on. Beautiful decorations. Beautiful food. Beautiful music. Beautiful wedding party. Beautiful flowers. Beautiful everything. I had always dreamed of having my wedding reception in my parent's backyard. The fickle November weather stressed both my mother and I to extremes, but it all worked out in the end. No rain, just cool temperatures and delicious hot chocolate to warm us right up. That and the non-stop dancing that occupied the gazebo. It was such a celebration.
Honestly, it was all perfect. Andrew and I left the crowd of supportive family and friends, overwhelmed with love. What a wonderful way to start eternity together. I couldn't have imagined a more perfect day.
